Here come the girls, Silver Tone!

It’s no secret that London Community Gospel Choir is bursting full of amazing talent! The girl group, Silver Tone who you’ve heard on ITV’s X-factor belting gospel harmonies are all indeed members of LCGC.

Silver Tone is made up of Keshia Smith 32, Santhy Smith 26, Nicole Nyantakyi 22, Abigail “Wynter” Pule 24 and Rachel McIntosh 31. As part of the choir they have done backing vocals for a range of people including Sam Smith, Madonna and Will Young. Between them they have a variety of professions including Keisha who works in finance, Rachel who works as a professional singer and Abigail who is a medical secretary.

Silver Tone’s X-Factor journey began with a cliff-hanger when they were stopped halfway through their opening ‘pop’ audition. The judges could sense this wasn’t what they were really about and asked them to go back to their gospel roots and perform another song. Luckily Bazil Meade (Principal of LCGC) was already backstage for moral support and was able to jump on the piano and accompany the girls as they sang an LCGC’s arrangement of ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’. Phew! Luckily for Silver Tone that song is already in the choir’s repertoire!

Watch Silver Tone go back to their roots:

Silver Tone earned their spot at boot camp after taking the judges to church with their amazing gospel audition. They faced the judges again, this time with fellow contestants Ryan Ruckledge, Katie Coleman, Samantha Atkinson, and Alex Wallhead all singing together. Not all members gave it 100% but Silver Tone were still able to shine through and secure their place in the 6 Chair Challenge, just like their LCGC brothers BEKLN.

The girls are still firmly in the competition and all of LCGC are giving them full support! Please show them your support by following Silver Tone:
